Rosie Does Variety
Rosie O’Donnell will be presenting a new variety show on NBC the night before Thanksgiving.
Rosie’s Variety Show will reportedly feature celebrity guests, as well as music, comedy skits and prize giveaways.
The hour-long live special if it is popular may lead to a new series, according to reports by the The Hollywood Reporter.
“This is a genre that everybody is anticipating is going to come back,” said executive producer David Friedman.
“Rosie sort of invented the daytime variety show. Without question, Rosie is the right person to bring this back.”
NBC’s Craig Plestis adds: “This will reinvent the idea of what a variety show is for 2008. There’s very few performers willing to put themselves out there live.”
Didn’t we see enough of Rosie on “The View”?
