Jade Goody, the dental assistant turned reality-TV star, has died.
Goody’s publicist Max Clifford has told Sky News that the 27-year-old died in her sleep early Sunday morning in her home in southeast England. “The whole point was to go home to die surrounded by her loved ones and that is exactly what has happened – at least she got her wishes”, he said. “It was right for her. She lived her life in the public eye over the last seven years and according to Jane the happiest seven years of her life.”
The mother of two became famous after she joined the cast of Britain’s “Big Brother” in 2002.
In 2008, she learned that she had cervical cancer. On Feb. 4, 2009, her publicist confirmed that Goody’s cancer had spread to her liver, bowel and groin and ten days later he told the media that her doctors had declared her cancer as terminal and that Goody only had a few weeks or months to live.
Clifford was also quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “She was informed yesterday that tragically, she’s terminally ill. She was obviously devastated… The mother-of-two is now getting her affairs in order and making plans for her sons’ future”.
On Feb. 15, 2009, Goody married fellow reality star Jack Tweed in a private ceremony on the banks of the River Thames.
despite her personal flaws, it is tragic that Goody passed on at such a young age, and on Mother’s day
