The former Sopranos star, who was recently aquitted of responsibility in the death of the police officer hasn’t gotten off lightly for his part in the events leading up to the death of the man however.
Lillo Brancato Jr. was sentenced to ten years in prison for his part in an attempted burglary that left a police officer dead this week.
32-year-old Brancato was acquitted last month of the second-degree murder of Officer Daniel Enchautegui in 2005, while his accomplice in the events led to Steven Armento’s receiving a life sentence.
Justice Martin Marcus of State Supreme Court in the Bronx did however decide that Brancato had a hand in things and hashanded Brancato the ten-year prison term for attempted robbery.
Prosecutors argued that the actors actions had played a part in leading up to the death of the officer.
Brancato, who was a self confessed drug user, got his break in acting at the age of 15 when he played Calogero Anello in A Bronx Tale working with actor Robert De Niro.
