Billy Joel is helping to pay for the funeral of a clam-digger, who was recently found dead close to the musician’s New York estate.

The 59-year-old pianist/singer-songwriter has been a supporter of fisherman in Long Island for years and has now, according to the Associated Press, donated an undisclosed amount to the North Oyster Bay Baymen’s Association, which will help the clam-digger’s family with burial costs and other expenses.
