Amanda Brumfield, Billy Bob Thornton’s oldest daughter, has been charged with neglect after a child died in her care. The child reportedly fell out of it’s crib whilst Brumfield was babysitting her, after which Brumfield says the child’s tongue was bleeding, so she wiped it with a paper towel and played with the kid, who she said was ‘happy’ and ‘playful’.
She then lay the child on the couch beside her and fell asleep and, upon waking, found that the child was limp. She called an ambulance 2 and a half hours after the original accident, which the autopsy concluded did kill the child. Oh dear, Amanda, oh dear.
This happened to my daughter when she was about 15 months old. She was down for her nap and when she woke up, climbed out of her crib. I was in another room and heard a loud thump and then loud crying/screaming . She cried for a long time and as a young mother all I did was try to comfort her. I did put a cold wash cloth on her head never thinking it could have been anything more that a just a bump. Thank goodness she was fine. These kind of accidents happen. So sad for the little childs family.
