Hollywood star Ben Affleck is visiting refugee camps in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where approximately 250,000 people have been displaced due to fighting in the region, Yahoo! News reports.
The actor has visited the country four times since 2007. He even made a documentary about its problems for the news show “Nightline” in May.
“I’m not an expert in international affairs or diplomacy, but it doesn’t take that to see the tremendous suffering here,” Affleck tells The Associated Press. “It’s not something that we as human beings can, in good conscience, ignore… My hope in being here is primarily to bring attention to the fact that there’s a real lack of (aid agencies) here, a real lack of money going to these folks.”
Afflek badly needs a blockbuster hit asap…or else his movie career will be heading down the drain and he won’t have any money to do good things like this!
