Mischa Barton — the star of “The O.C.” has been taken away by police and hospitalized. She was reportedly removed under California’s involuntary psychiatric-hold law just before she was to fly off to New York for the premiere of her movie, “Homecoming.” This was reported by Fox News Entertainment.
Police transported her r to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was hospitalized under Section 5150 of the California Welfare & Institutions Code,. The code is designed to allow the authorities to hold a person for up to 72 hours if they present a danger to themselves or to others. Nobody’s saying which danger Barton represented.
Not long ago Barton was arrested for substance abuse…including DUI and marijuana possession. She was pinched in LA after driving in two lanes during a break from the movie’s location work in Pittsburgh last year.
