An artist by the name of Natascha Stellmach claims to be in possession of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s ashes and says that she plans to smoke the ashes as part of her five-part installation titled “Set Me Free” in Berlin on October 11, according to Artworld Magazine.
Stellmach does not want to reveal how she came to be in possession of the ashes and has reportedly told the magazine: “That’s confidential and kind of magic. They came to me.”
Some time ago, Cobain’s widow Courtney Love claimed that her late husband’s ashes were stolen, but now Courtney’s rep Alan Nierob has retracted her previous statements, saying Cobain’s remains were never taken, NDTV.com reports.
