Anti-Scientology protesters showed up at Katie Holmes’ Broadway debut

Katie Holmes

A group of about 20 protesters from a anti-Scientology group showed up outside New York’s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre last night, where Katie Holmes was starring in her first preview performance of “All My Sons”.

“We are not boycotting Katie, we are not boycotting the play, we are protesting Scientology,” one of the protesters shouted according to E! Online. People in the crowd also held signs that read “Scientology Kills” and “Free Katie.”

So what did people think about her Broadway debut? Well, according to Reuters, Holmes proved her self worthy of her famous co-stars: John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson.

And Holmes’ famous husband, actor/scientologist Tom Cruise, loved her performance. “She was extraordinary”, he told The Daily News.

“All My Sons” has its official premiere on October 16.

Repeatedly, spokespersons for the masked terrorist organization “Anonymous” have promised that they weren’t out to ruin the lives of individual Scientologists.

And yet, now they have announced their intent to disrupt Katie Holmes’ Broadway debut in All My Sons by protesting that a Scientologist should be allowed to take part in a Broadway show. These hateful psychotics have made it clearer than ever now that they hold anyone who is a Scientologist (or just married to one) to be “fair game” for destruction. Funny how the people who rant the most about “fair game” are the ones who are actually practicing it against innocent citizens.

Are we going to allow this gang of thugs to continue to harass innocent people over their religious beliefs? Can we allow people to have their safety jeopardized and careers ruined simply because they choose to believe in Scientology?

Quite Frankly I hope the protesters who do trouble this woman are arrested and charged with hate crimes.

Trying to select what someone else believes, to choose what their faith is, is something that NO ONE has any right to do.
I’ve dealt with this a few times in my own lifetime.

Ninety percent of the time it was right wing Christianity who perpetrates the ridiculous behavior, but in some cases its not..

Well meaning though these protesting folks may be, do they have the right to protest a religious affiliation and to do so in a venue that has nothing to do with that religious affiliation?

No I don’t think they do. THe bottom line is that religion is protected in our country for a reason. Were we to start protesting a Christian worker out side the Microsoft building they would haul us off to jail and I personally think they’d have a right to.
