Father Tim Jones, a parish leader, has recently urged people to shoplift from large national chains in difficult times for vulnerable people. Father Tim Jones believes it is the best option comparing to prostitution, mugging, or burglary. While father Jones stressed that his words should not be interpreted as a call to shoplift, his advice inevitably sparked controversy.
Mr Jones says his reasons are that the society had failed many needy people andhe apparently feels that it is so much better to shoplift than turn to more degrading or violent options like prostitution, mugging or burglary.
He added: “Let my words not be misrepresented as a simplistic call for people to shoplift. He did however add some further advice for the would be thieves… the.controversial parish priest of St. Lawrence Church in York, continued to say that the “shoplifters should not target small, independent, family own businesses. Instead, it is better to steal from large national chain stores, as the cost will eventually be passed down to a large pool of customers in the form of higher prices.”
Yeah, Good thinking!!
