Gary Glitter, sometimes rock star and famous Brit personality, (famous for more than rocking it seems) has become the problem of Great Britain as soon as he is released from jail on Tuesday.
By way of the BBC comes the news that Glitter will be deported from Vietnam back to the UK this week when he is released from prison after spending about three years there for child molestation.
Born as Paul Gadd, he was found guilty in 2006 of obscene acts with two girls, ages ten and eleven in Vietnam while living in the tourist town, Vung Tau.
As soon as he’s released, according to Vietnamese law, he will be driven directly to the airport and sent home to the UK.
Is that the end of it.. Well not exactly. Upon his arrival in London, he will be met by the police who will take an interview with him regarding where he will live and take all information necessary to help local police keep track of him.
For his part, Glitter says he has no interest in the UK as a place to live (can’t blame him, all that pesky protecting society stuff going on there) and has mentioned the Phillipines as a place where he may go to relaunch his music career.
