Dennis Quaid has agreed a settlement of around $760,000 Dollars or £500,000 from a hospital that gave his newborn babies a potentially lethal overdose of Heparin.
Quaid’s twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace were accidentally injected with just about a thousand times the normal dosage of a blood thinner last year shortly after their birth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles last year.
Documents filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court yesterday show that The Day After Tomorrow star and his wife Kimberly have accepted a cash settlement from the hospital. The actor and wife are still pursuing the lawsuit against the drug manufacturer however, apparently seeking still more damages.
The couple allege that Baxter Healthcare Corp does not properly label the medication which led to the massive overdose.
Or maybe.. they just got an illiterate nurse??
