One Direction Gets To Keep Their Name

One Direction Gets To Keep Their NameThe guys from the British boy band One Direction should be able to breathe now that they have the lone rights to the name. To avoid confusing fans, the group and a US musical group have come to terms that only one of them should get to use the name.

The Associated Press has announced that the boys have indeed sorted it out with the group from the US with the same name. They have reached an agreement that the boys from Britain will have to use the name and continue using it through the rest of their career.

Both groups have issued a release from London that the US-based group will be changing their name to Uncharted Shores, while the worldwide boy band phenomenon gets to keep the name their name. These two groups have settled the matter amicably and both were pleased with the resolution.

One Direction became a huge hit through the show “The X Factor UK” in 2010 where all five of them, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, auditioned individually. The judges decided to put all five of them into one group and that could have been the best decision the judges have made.

The group has been very successful since, especially with their sensational first album, “Up All Night”. They broke into the international music scene and became the first ever UK act to debut No.1 on the Billboard Top 200 all-genre chart. One Direction also has a huge and growing fan base mostly of teenage girls all around the world.
